A Decentralized Authoritative Multiplayer Architecture for Games on the Edge

With the ever growing number of edge devices, idea resource sharing systems is becoming more appealing. Multiplayer games are a area interest due to scalability issues current client-server architectures. A paradigm shift from centralized decentralized architectures that would allow greater has gained lot within industry and academic community. Research on peer network protocols for multiplayer was mainly focused cheat detection. Previously proposed solutions address detection protocol level but do not provide holistic solution architecture. Additionally, existing introduce some centralization, which inherently introduces single point failures. We propose blockchain-based, completely architecture devices with no failure. Our relies an innovative consensus mechanism based verifiable delay functions additionally allows derive randomness. present simulation results show assignment players referees instances pseudo-random, prevents collusion-based cheats vulnerabilities.
